Suppose you sell an item for $30.00 with no shipping charge. The gross sale is $30.00. Here is how Venmo arrives at what you keep:

How Venmo fees work
Direct payments to a Venmo business profile cost the recipient 1.9% + $0.10. A payment received by a personal profile and identified as goods and services costs the seller 2.99%, without a fixed fee. Ordinary personal transfers have no recipient fee and should not be used for sales. Funding a personal transfer with a credit card adds a 3% fee paid by the sender; debit-card funding is free, and that sender charge is not deducted from the recipient's payout. Tap to Pay, international PayPal transfers and withdrawals use separate schedules and are not modeled here.
