Suppose you sell an item for $42.00 and the buyer pays $7.00 for a platform-provided shipping label. The gross sale is $49.00. Here is how Mercari arrives at what you keep:

How Mercari fees work

The 10% US selling fee uses item price plus buyer-paid shipping. This calculator models Mercari prepaid labels: buyer-paid shipping is part of the fee basis but is paid to Mercari rather than received by the seller. If you offer free shipping, leave buyer-paid shipping at zero and enter the seller-funded label amount under shipping paid; Mercari deducts it from your payout. Profit subtracts item cost without charging the label twice. No additional seller processing fee applies. Buyer Protection fees, label adjustments, optional withdrawal fees and self-arranged shipping are outside this model.
