Amazon FBA fee calculator
Selling through Amazon FBA costs two things: a referral fee — typically 15% of the sale price, but it varies by category — and a per-unit FBA fulfilment fee that covers picking, packing and shipping (around $3.50 for a standard-size item). Enter your price and category to see both fees itemised, the net Amazon deposits, and your profit after item cost.

Worked example: a $30.00 Amazon FBA sale
Suppose you sell an item for $30.00 with no shipping charge. The gross sale is $30.00. Here is how Amazon FBA arrives at what you keep:
- Final value fee (15% × $30.00 + $3.50)−$8.00
Total fees come to $8.00 (26.7% of the gross sale), leaving a net payout of $22.00. After your $8.00 item cost, the profit is $14.00 — a 46.7% margin on the item price.
How Amazon FBA fees work
Amazon FBA has two core charges. The referral fee is a percentage of the total sales price and varies by category — about 15% for most categories, lower for electronics, higher for clothing and jewelry. The FBA fulfilment fee is a fixed per-unit charge based on the item's size and weight, roughly $3.50 for a standard-size item but rising sharply for large or heavy goods. On top of these, Amazon charges monthly storage fees for inventory sitting in its warehouses and optional program fees (advertising, FBA subscriptions). This calculator covers the per-sale referral and fulfilment fees; treat the fulfilment fee as an estimate and check Amazon's rate card for your exact item dimensions.
