Worked example: a $85.00 Grailed sale
Suppose you sell an item for $85.00 and charge $12.00 shipping. The gross sale is $97.00. Here is how Grailed arrives at what you keep:
- Selling fee (9% × $85.00)−$7.65
- Payment processing (3.49% × $97.00 + $0.49)−$3.88
Total fees come to $11.53 (11.9% of the gross sale), leaving a net payout of $85.47. After your $25.00 item cost and $10.00 shipping paid, the profit is $50.47 — a 59.4% margin on the item price.
How Grailed fees work
Grailed takes two fees on each sale. The selling fee is 9% of the item price — raised from 6% in 2023 — and payment processing adds 3.49% + $0.49 on the total amount the buyer pays, including shipping. Grailed handles payments through its own checkout, which includes seller protection for eligible sales. Digital goods and some categories may carry different terms, and cross-border sales can add currency-conversion costs. Listing is free; you only pay when an item sells.
